What’s included in a full guitar or bass setup?
A full setup includes nut height adjustment, neck relief, string action, string radius, intonation, fretboard clean and oil, pickup height adjustment, pot cleaning (if needed), restring (strings not included), and hardware tightening for tuning stability. Every setup begins with a full evaluation and a chat about how you want it to play.
How do I know if my guitar needs a fret level or a full re-fret?
If your frets have mild wear or dents, a fret level is the best option. But if the frets are too low or too worn down, a re-fret is necessary. I’ll assess your instrument first and advise the best route.
Can you customise the setup to my playing style?
Absolutely. As a guitarist myself with over 25 years of playing experience, I understand how personal feel and tone are. Whether you’re after low action, specific tunings, or just better playability, I’ll tailor the setup to suit your exact needs.
Do you offer pickup swaps or wiring upgrades?
Yes! Whether you’re looking to upgrade your tone or just try something new, I can swap out your pickups and make sure everything is wired and grounded properly.
I’ve just bought a new guitar—should I get it setup?
Definitely. Most new guitars come with factory setups that are rarely ideal. A professional setup makes a huge difference in playability and tuning stability. It can turn a frustrating instrument into something inspiring to play.
